Product construction and operation

A thin-pattern ball valve provides a compact face-to-face arrangement where available pipe length is limited. The pneumatic actuator supplies the rotary motion while the compact body contains the ball and seats. Short body length does not remove the need for access around the actuator and pipeline fasteners.

Selection and installation details

Compare the actual face-to-face and bolt arrangement with the existing installation before treating this as a drop-in replacement. Flange gaskets, neighboring pipe fittings and mounting hardware can influence the available space. Select the actuator from the valve load under process conditions rather than from the compact body size, and define the required response if instrument air is lost.

Review supply pressure at the equipment while it is operating, not only the compressor setting. Select accessories and the loss-of-air response for the complete assembly.

Application fit

Compact process skids and piping layouts where reduced valve body length is a useful design consideration.
