Product construction and operation

A lined ball valve uses a protective lining in the wetted flow path while a pneumatic actuator operates the ball. The lining and sealing system must be selected for the specific chemical service, including concentration, temperature, pressure and any cleaning cycle.

Selection and installation details

A general description such as corrosion resistant is not a chemical compatibility approval. Diffusion, abrasion, vacuum, temperature cycling and cleaning chemicals can affect a lining differently. Provide the complete process envelope and request the relevant material and pressure-temperature data. Installation procedures must also protect the lining at the flange faces and avoid applying unapproved loads to the assembly.

Review supply pressure at the equipment while it is operating, not only the compressor setting. Select accessories and the loss-of-air response for the complete assembly.

Application fit

Chemical-transfer and corrosive-fluid isolation where the selected lining is verified as compatible.

Include the medium, normal and maximum pressure and temperature, connection dimensions, required operating time and quantity. For an existing installation, add identification photographs and the current assembly drawing.
