Product construction and operation

A pneumatic flanged ball valve combines a rotary ball valve with an air actuator and mounting assembly. The ball rotates between the open flow path and the closed seat position. Flanged ends allow the valve to be incorporated into a bolted piping joint, provided the mating standard and pressure class match.

Configuration features

• Two-way isolation arrangement with a visible actuator position indicator.
• Double-acting and spring-return drives are selected according to the required air-loss response.
• Flange dimensions and body length depend on the selected connection standard.

Selection and installation details

Nominal pressure classes from different standards are not interchangeable flange dimensions. Provide the complete flange designation, face type and required face-to-face length. The valve seat, seal and body material must be reviewed against the operating temperature as well as pressure. The reference actuator pairing is a starting point only; load increases from differential pressure, deposits or infrequent cycling can change the required actuator.

Review supply pressure at the equipment while it is operating, not only the compressor setting. Select accessories and the loss-of-air response for the complete assembly.
