Product construction and operation

An instrument-air filter regulator removes collected contamination and regulates the pressure supplied to pneumatic controls. Depending on the selected assembly, air preparation may also include a lubricator. The correct arrangement follows the actuator and accessory requirements.

Configuration features

• Pressure adjustment and gauge support setup of the local air supply.
• Filter bowl and drain arrangement collect and discharge separated contamination.
• Filter-regulator and filter-regulator-lubricator packages are different configurations.

Selection and installation details

A nominal filtration value does not establish a complete compressed-air quality class. Check moisture, oil carryover and particulate requirements for every downstream device. Select the regulator using the required flow as well as pressure range, because a small unit may show pressure drop during actuator movement. Do not add lubrication unless the actuator and control-device instructions permit or require it.

Check both mechanical and control compatibility before installation. A matching exterior or similar part description does not confirm interchangeable ratings, porting or wiring.
