A geared quarter-turn actuator combines a multi-turn electric drive with a secondary reduction gearbox.
Send your requirements for the proposed configuration.
A geared quarter-turn actuator combines a multi-turn electric drive with a secondary reduction gearbox. The gearbox converts the drive output into limited-angle valve movement and increases available output torque according to its ratio and efficiency. The actuator and gearbox must therefore be selected and documented as a complete assembly.
Gear reduction changes both torque and operating time. A larger gearbox ratio can increase output torque while slowing the stroke, and the valve mounting parts must withstand the resulting load. Include the breakaway, running and seating loads, required travel angle and opening time in the enquiry. Do not use the electric drive nameplate torque as the valve-side torque without accounting for the gearbox.
Define the power supply, command signal, position feedback and operating frequency. Confirm the response required after power or signal loss for the selected controls.
Larger rotary valves, butterfly valves, ball valves and dampers needing a separately sized reduction gearbox.
Include the medium, normal and maximum pressure and temperature, connection dimensions, required operating time and quantity. For an existing installation, add identification photographs and the current assembly drawing.
Confirm the final assembly drawing, materials, ratings and control documentation for the proposed configuration before ordering. Product photographs show representative configurations.
