Product construction and operation
A three-position pneumatic actuator provides two end positions and a mechanically controlled intermediate position. Auxiliary pistons and travel adjustment components create the intermediate stop, while a coordinated pneumatic circuit determines which position is selected.
Configuration features
- Reference travel arrangements include 0-45-90 degrees and 0-90-180 degrees.
- An intermediate position is mechanically defined rather than inferred from a timed air pulse.
- Requires a matching solenoid and air-circuit sequence for repeatable positioning.
Selection and installation details
The intermediate stop is useful when a process needs a repeatable partial opening or a defined port-routing position. It is not a substitute for a continuously modulating positioner. Specify the required angle at all three positions, the valve port arrangement and the movement sequence. The response to air loss depends on the actuator and spring arrangement; it must be confirmed for the exact version rather than assumed from the number of positions.
Review supply pressure at the equipment while it is operating, not only the compressor setting. Select accessories and the loss-of-air response for the complete assembly.
Application fit
Three-way valve routing, staged filling and processes requiring a repeatable intermediate valve position.
Information to include in your enquiry
Include the medium, normal and maximum pressure and temperature, connection dimensions, required operating time and quantity. For an existing installation, add identification photographs and the current assembly drawing.
Confirm the final assembly drawing, materials, ratings and control documentation for the proposed configuration before ordering. Product photographs show representative configurations.
